Flights range from 30-minutes to 1.5-hours, with longer flights soaring high above the Beaufort Range or Mt. Arrowsmith offering panoramic views of Georgia Strait and the West Coast of Vancouver Island.
Learn to Fly
Vancouver Island Soaring Centre has been helping new pilots earn their wings in the Alberni Valley since 2005. From the very first flight, you will have a chance to be at the controls of your advanced two-seat PW6 sailplane. We also offer conversion training for existing pilots. If you’ve always wanted to learn to fly, gliding is the most cost effective (and dare we say fun) way to do it!
